How do you create a way to keep 100, 1000 or 100,000 customers current on information that is “custom tailored” to meet their needs based on “who” the individual is? The Customer Portal is an “out-of-the-box” solution that is ready for immediately deploy with no development required. As your information and communication technology (ICT) tool, the Portal will immediately allows you to “push out” and “pull in” information based on any individual, group, or customer base associated with your organization and/or associated business, partnerships and B2B activities.

Imagine how much easier it will make customers lives by empowering them to go to one place and get all the information they need that is custom tailored to the role they play in as it relates to the organization. Since the system “knows” the individual is part of the organization (via a directory; in house or the Portal Directory), anytime information is posted, it will be directed via a “Virtual Desktop” based on who the individual is, what services they utilize, and what products you want to market to them. The Customer Portal will have all the information that is relevant to each individual readily and securely available to access from any Internet connected computer in the world.

For example:
Let's say you have customers that access your site for general information, as well as sales events, specials and to take surveys you send out. You can actually break customers into different groupings based on products, services, location, etc. to convey whatever message, by the masses, that you want. All the information that is relevant to the customer, based on your groupings, will automatically be on their Customer Portal.

You have the power to create and allow as many individuals, groups, and organizations to have areas within the portal for accessing, and pushing information out by simply creating a group name, then assigning individuals or groups from the directory to that group. It's that easy.

Imagine the amount of time, paperwork, and people logistics you can immediately reduce or eliminate by having one system that knows “who” the customer is when they login and automatically provides them with only the information that is related to who they are and what they want or are interested in or the message you want to push out. Key Point
One of the powerful features of the Hyper-Portal is that it is LDAP compliant. What that means is the Portal can automatically connect to your directory services. Your directory is like the white pages for your organization, containing all information about everyone associated with your business. With this capability, you can immediately create information and push it out based on who the individual is or the role they play. In addition, the Portal allows you to further create additional groups to get as specific as you would like in providing information to individuals.

The Technical Side of the District Hyper-Portal

LDAP Compliant

First and foremost, it is LDAP complianct. User provisioning determines what each individual user receives. Once you have provisioned automatically through your directory or have utilized the Hyper-Portals directory, the system knows who each user is that logs into the Hyper-Portal. The Portal then provides the user with information that is specific to the user based on the groupings or parameter you set. Regardless of what grouping you create, ie. by job title, location, department, special committee, board, vendor, employee, etc. Communicate announcements globally as well as regionally and/or locally or even to a single user. All with a click of a mouse. Each user can be part of multiple groups so they receive the appropriate information. You even have the ability to control the rights the user has such as full access, read only, edit only, etc.

FERPA Compliant

The Hyper-Portal provides a number of capabilities including Independent user login, application and record access journaling, including IP address ownership access logs. There is inherent record locking providing true data-safe multi-user computing for any database connected through the Hyper-Portal.

The Hyper-Portal Look and Feel

The Hyper-Portal is often referred to as a technological marvel. It delivers the same desktop navigation environment as found in all major operating systems, only it delivers it within a browser. The "desktop metaphor" allows any user to immediately start using the Hyper-Portal with no previous training. Users are able to utilize icons to access information posted to “their” Hyper-Portal. They can start applications, create icons/shortcuts for the applications provisioned to them, drag/drop icons to manually align them on the desktop, click on EzStart to access all applications provisioned to the user, and much more. These desktop definitions are stored in files called Zone Desktop Interface (.zdi) desktop configuration files. The Hyper-Portal has some distinct advantages over a fat client desktop. It can be accessed by users from any Internet connection (including dial-up) through a browser. The Hyper-Portal also provides a uniform "look" to be defined as well within a desktop .zdi configuration file as well.

The Hyper-Portal benchmark for Internet access is 28.8 dial-up access. Users are no longer limited by the type of bandwidth they have access to. This makes it possible for virtually anyone to get to their information, application, or data 24/7.

The Hyper-Portal provides organizations with key functionality capabilities including a Document Manager, User Management, Global Site Administration, Site Intelligence, Document Publishing, Flash Posting, HTML Coding, and a HTML authoring tool, plus more.

HTML Authoring Tool

The HTML authoring tool empowers users with the unique ability to utilize it, regardless of their HTML programming knowledge. The system literally allows a user to create and use every HTML standard via pull down menus. You can literally use Page Builder like an on-line word processor or at the other end of the spectrum, use Page Builder to create HTML programming. The system also comes with tools to jump start the process including existing templates, copy and paste capabilities, upload and download PDF, HTML, PHP; all from your desktop. A user can also customize the look, color, and attach logos with simple point and click functionality. Update information as often as you like, from anywhere you have Internet access.

Secure Accessed

The Hyper-Portal resides on Novell SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9 (SLES 9), the most secure server software in the world (EAL 4+). You can securely access all information, data, and applications from an Internet / Intranet connection from anywhere in the world 24/7.

Hosted / Non-Hosted

You can choose to host the Hyper-Portal on a server at your location or we can host the Portal for your organization.
